Ten Tips For Getting More Traffic to Your Blog

There are many ways to attract more visitors to your blog, below are my top ten strategies for building blog traffic:

•    Go to My Yahoo! and submit your blog's RSS feed.  Once you do this, Yahoo! will index your blog for inclusion in the search engines. Do the same for the Google Reader for inclusion in the Google Blog Search.

•    Submit your blog to free directories, as well as the major search engines.  This will create inbound links and help optimize your blogs for the search engine.

•    Post at least four short posts a day. Each post should be at least 100 words and have a keyword density of 2 to 3 percent (use your target keywords two to three times for every 100 words) for maximum effect.

•    When you add a new post, "ping" the post using a ping website.

•    Comment on other blogs in the blogosphere.  Make sure that your signature line includes a link to your blog.  Do not leave SPAM comments - make each comment unique and original.

•    Be an active "expert" in forums relating to your blog.  Post helpful links, advice and information along with a link back to your site.

•    Quote other blogs and news articles and leave a track back.

•    Put your blog URL on your business cards, stationery, and other "offline" correspondence.

•    Add tags to your blog that describe the topic of each post.

•    Join social bookmarking sites such as Digg and Del.icio.us. Mark your blog posts as favorites for increased exposure.
